Objective: A suit for a young man heading into adulthood.
For his high school graduation, the client’s mother commissioned a tailored suit to mark a milestone. We created a single-vent charcoal suit with subtle pick stitching and matching vest. A floral cotton lining gave it a touch of youth and individuality. This piece will carry into job interviews, weddings, and the future beyond.
1. Initial Consultation
The process begins with a one-on-one meeting to understand the client’s needs, style preferences, intended use of the garment, and budget. This is where fabric choices, colors, and design direction are first discussed.
2. Fabric & Style Selection
Clients browse a curated selection of premium fabrics and finishes. Together, we finalize the garment’s style—from lapels and buttons to pockets and linings—ensuring every detail aligns with the client’s vision.
3. Measurement & Posture Analysis
We take over 20 precise body measurements and observe natural posture, stance, and shoulder slope. These details inform the unique pattern drafted exclusively for the client.
4. Pattern Drafting
A custom pattern is created from scratch, based on the measurements and posture analysis. Unlike made-to-measure, no templates are used—each pattern is 100% original and client-specific.
5. First Fitting (Basted Fitting)
The garment is assembled with loose stitching in a temporary form (basted) for the initial try-on. This allows us to evaluate the overall fit, structure, and movement before permanent stitching.
6. Adjustments & Refinement
Based on feedback from the first fitting, the garment is reworked to improve comfort, shape, and balance. Adjustments are made to sleeve length, trouser break, shoulder pitch, and more.
7. Second Fitting (Forward Fitting)
The garment is more fully constructed at this stage, allowing the client to see and feel how the final product will look. Final tweaks are identified and noted.
8. Finishing & Handwork
The garment is completed with fine handwork, such as hand-stitched buttonholes, lining attachment, and final pressing. Every detail is inspected for quality and durability.
9. Final Fitting & Delivery
The client tries on the fully finished garment for final approval. If no minor alterations are required, the suit is delivered in premium packaging, ready to wear with confidence.
